Burna Boy and Ayra Starr, two Nigerian artists, have earned spots on former US President Barack Obama’s 2023 summer playlist.

Released on Thursday night, the playlist features Burna Boy’s ‘Sittin On Top Of The World’ and Ayra Starr’s ‘Sability’.

This is not the first time Nigerian musicians have been recognized on Obama’s playlists. Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last’ was featured in his 2022 summer playlist, while Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ made it to the 2022 end-of-the-year playlist.

Additionally, other Nigerian artists like Wizkid, Rema, and Tems have also been previously featured on Obama’s playlists, reflecting the global impact of Nigerian music on the international music scene.
