Senator Natasha Challenges Senate to Provide Evidence for Her Suspension
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has demanded that the Senate present evidence of the alleged gross misconduct that led to her six-month suspension. She insists that the suspension is a retaliation for her allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio……….READ MORE
In an interview with Sky News, Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that Akpabio had pressured her to “please him” in exchange for her privileges as a senator. She argued that the suspension was an attempt to silence her, noting that it was announced just a day after she filed a petition accusing Akpabio of harassment.
She further highlighted what she described as a double standard in the Senate, pointing out that male senators involved in physical altercations were not suspended. Akpoti-Uduaghan also accused Akpabio of obstructing her legislative efforts and intimidating her after she refused his advances.
The senator maintained that her rights had been deliberately undermined and questioned why she was suspended immediately after submitting her petition. She urged the Senate to clarify the specific misconduct that justified such a severe disciplinary action.
