Afrobeats singer Seun Kuti has raised serious allegations regarding the death of a Nigerian woman at a religious healing camp, claiming the family lost a substantial amount of money while seeking spiritual intervention.

According to Kuti, the woman, reportedly from a wealthy Nigerian family, was battling terminal cancer, and overseas doctors had advised that no further medical treatment could help. Seeking alternative solutions, her family brought her back to Nigeria and placed her in the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s camp, hoping that prayers would restore her health.

Kuti alleged that despite continuous prayers and religious activities at the camp, the woman eventually passed away, leaving her family devastated. He claimed the family had spent approximately $250,000 in the process, motivated by the hope of spiritual healing.

The singer further stated that after her death, Pastor Enoch Adeboye reportedly instructed the family to stop grieving and kneel beside her body while he prayed for her revival. Kuti said that after about an hour of prayers, the woman did not survive, and the family was asked to return home.

Kuti criticized the promotion of faith-based healing in cases of terminal illness, warning that such practices can provide false hope and result in severe emotional and financial consequences for families. He emphasized that these situations often lead to trauma, grief, and lasting hardship.
