Former NNPP Presidential Candidate Kwankwaso Visits Villa, Remains Tight-Lipped

Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, made an unexpected appearance at the Presidential Villa on Monday, where he attended the Nigeria Forest Economy Summit 2025, organised by the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion (PreCEFI), ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE.

The former Kano State governor was spotted at the Banquet Hall of the State House among high-profile guests at the event. However, in a surprising turn, Kwankwaso did not deliver any remarks nor grant interviews to the State House correspondents, despite visible media presence — a move that sparked quiet murmurs, ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, who was represented by Ibrahim Hadejia, the Deputy Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, spoke at the summit, raising alarms over Nigeria’s deteriorating forests. He revealed that more than 400,000 hectares of forest land are lost each year, with over 90 percent of the country’s original forest cover already depleted — a crisis he described not just as environmental but as an “economic emergency”.
