Singer Asake Pays Courtesy Visit To President Mahama After Accra Show

Award-winning Nigerian singer Asake made headlines following his recent visit to Ghanaian President John Mahama in Accra. The meeting came shortly after Asake’s headline performance at the AfroFuture Ghana festival, part of the “December in GH” celebrations held at El-Wak Stadium.

Footage of the encounter shows Asake exchanging warm greetings with President Mahama, alongside notable personalities including actor John Dumelo and businessman Ibrahima Mahama. During their brief interaction, President Mahama humorously referenced a fan who discharged a firearm at one of Asake’s concerts, remarking, “So he is the one the guy fired the gun for?”

Asake expressed regret over the incident and appealed for understanding, to which President Mahama replied, “Don’t worry about it. The law is the law.” Authorities confirmed that the suspect was arrested for unlawful possession and discharge of a firearm during a public event.

Asake, a Grammy-nominated artist, has released three albums to date and recently relocated to Los Angeles to further his music career.
