13NA/70/11481, was detained on Wednesday evening along with the illicit drug shipment. A police signal obtained by SaharaReporters revealed that a patrol team, led by ASP Alex Dung, intercepted the soldier near Abalti Barracks, Surulere, around 8 PM.

The signal stated:
“Situation Report: Arrest of Military Personnel – On 15/01/2025 at about 2015hrs, a patrol team led by ASP Alex Dung intercepted and detained 13NA/70/11481 Lance Corporal Sani Aminu attached to Abalti Barracks, Surulere, for possession of a substance suspected to be Canadian Loud. The suspect will be handed over to the CP Tactical Squad 1 for further investigation.”

In a related development, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently seized a trailer containing 2,217.6 kilograms of skunk, a powerful cannabis strain, at an abandoned fuel station in Kagini, Kubwa, Abuja. The operation, carried out on January 11, 2025, was intelligence-driven and took place in the early hours of the morning.

A statement from Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s Media and Publicity Director, disclosed that the illicit goods were being distributed into six vehicles for delivery to northern states. The agency also confiscated the trailer, six vehicles (including various Toyota models, a JAC Hilux, and a Vento Passat), and arrested a suspect identified as Isaac Monday Desmond.

Separately, NDLEA operatives arrested two individuals, Anthony Nnamdi (42) and Abba Ali (27), in Nyanya, Abuja. The suspects were found in possession of 1.398 kilograms of cocaine and precursor substances used for manufacturing crack cocaine.
