Tears Flow As El-Rufai’s Mother Is Laid To Rest

The mother of former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, has been laid to rest in Abuja. According to Ireporter Online, the matriarch of the El-Rufai family passed away on Friday in Cairo, Egypt, where she had been receiving medical treatment.

She was buried on Sunday at Gudu Cemetery after funeral prayers conducted in accordance with Islamic rites. Photographs that surfaced online captured the emotional moment, showing the former governor surrounded by African Democratic Congress (ADC) leaders and other prominent politicians.

The funeral attracted top government officials, dignitaries, and opposition figures, including former and current governors. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar attended the funeral prayers and shared on his social media platforms that he joined family, friends, and associates in mourning the loss of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, praying for her eternal rest and comfort for the bereaved family.

Other notable attendees included National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Governor Abdullahi Bago of Niger State, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, business magnate Aliko Dangote, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, former Minister Isa Patanmi, and several other prominent personalities.
