The Inclusion Of New-Presidential Jet-Costs In 2024-Supplementary Budget (Details)
Following a string of technical issues plaguing Nigeria’s current presidential aircraft, the government plans to acquire a new jet, included in the 2024 supplementary budget.
Sources close to TheCable reveal that the decision comes after President Bola Tinubu’s switch to a commercial flight due to mechanical problems, and Vice-President Kashim Shettima’s mid-air return from the US.
The sale of three older aircraft has also been initiated in response to these incidents, managed by the Presidential Air Fleet division.
The budget, supported by the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund, will also fund key national projects like the Lagos-Calabar coastal road and railway expansions.
