The Tinubu’s Meeting With Defence Ministers, Service Chiefs That Lasted Less Than An Hour

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu convened a meeting with Defence Minister Abubakar Badaru, Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle, and the country’s military leadership at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Also in attendance were General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS); Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS); Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS); and Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS).

This meeting, which followed President Tinubu’s private decoration of the CDS and service chiefs, lasted for less than an hour. The specific details of the discussions were not disclosed to reporters following the meeting.

They include reviews of areas where the service chiefs may need to intensify their efforts and strategies to address security challenges, as well as the identification and closure of security gaps.

This meeting took place ahead of President Tinubu’s scheduled trip to attend the G20 Leadership Summit in New Delhi, India.
