“They Don’t Exist!” – Ali Modu Sheriff Declares ADC Will Die Within Three Months

A former governor of Borno State and senior figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has dismissed the viability of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), predicting the party’s imminent collapse due to internal discord and competing presidential ambitions.

Speaking during a televised political affairs programme on Monday, Sheriff asserted that the ADC lacks the foundational strength and political cohesion to sustain its relevance, claiming the party will become defunct within the next three months.

According to political insights gathered by iReporter Online, the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman denied any involvement or planned affiliation with the ADC, describing it as a “nonexistent” political entity. “Which ADC? Do they even have a political party structure? They don’t exist. Give them three months; they’ll fizzle out because every member wants to be president,” he remarked.

Sheriff further emphasized that the opposition party is fundamentally unstable, describing it as a loose collection of individuals driven by personal ambition, with no unifying ideology or administrative base to match what the APC achieved during its formation.

He drew comparisons with the emergence of the APC, which he noted was a strategic merger involving major political blocs including four state governors led by Bola Tinubu, five from the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and four from a breakaway faction of the PDP. Sheriff highlighted that the APC now boasts 73 senators, a commanding presence in the House of Representatives, and control of over 20 states nationwide—metrics he argued the ADC could never replicate.

According to him, while individuals within the ADC may exercise their right to seek political office, the absence of a formidable institutional structure renders their ambitions politically inconsequential.

His statements come amid speculations about growing alliances among opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the ADC reportedly being floated as a possible unifying platform. Sheriff, however, dismissed such projections as unrealistic.
