TikTok Nightmare: Young Man Confesses to Killing 19-Year-Old Student for Rituals, Blames Native Doctor He Met Online

Shocking confession, a 20-year-old man, Jeremiah Paul, has admitted to the gruesome murder of Damilola Olowoyo, a 19-year-old student of the Federal University Lokoja, in Kogi State. According to the Kogi State Police Command, Paul said he killed Damilola for money rituals after meeting a native doctor on TikTok, who guided him on what to do.

The tragic incident unfolded when the police paraded four suspects connected to Damilola’s murder. Those implicated include Jeremiah Paul, Emmanuel Otitoju, Barnabas Olugbenga, and Ajayi Basit Ayomide. The police, after receiving a complaint about Damilola’s disappearance, quickly began investigating. She had been missing since September 4, 2024, and was later found murdered.

Jeremiah Paul, who hails from Chikun Local Government in Kaduna State, confessed to luring Damilola into a trap. He revealed that he met Damilola a week prior and intentionally built a relationship with her, all while plotting her murder. Paul admitted to mixing codeine with Sprite and drinking it himself to earn her trust. He then gave the concoction to Damilola, and once she felt weak, he led her to an uncompleted building where he strangled her to death.

“I already had it in mind to use Damilola for ritual,” Paul explained. He further detailed how he tied her body using her clothes and dragged her into a bush, where he followed instructions from the native doctor. The native doctor, residing in Ibadan, had sent a driver to deliver a calabash and knife, which Paul used to remove her eyes, tongue, lungs, and parts of her buttocks. These body parts were sent back to the native doctor in Ibadan, and in return, Paul received soap that was supposedly part of the ritual.

The disturbing part of Paul’s confession is how he met the native doctor. According to him, he initially came across the native doctor on TikTok and later contacted him via WhatsApp. Paul, along with a friend, even traveled to Ibadan to meet the native doctor in person before carrying out the heinous act.

This tragic case has raised alarms about the influence of social media platforms like TikTok, where impressionable young people may come into contact with dangerous individuals. It serves as a chilling reminder to parents and guardians to closely monitor their children’s online activities.

Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious online behavior, especially involving minors, to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
