Tinubu Shattered by Buhari’s Death, Shettima Declares During Emotional Visit

Vice President Kashim Shettima has conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s heartfelt sorrow following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing the late leader as more than just a political ally but a true brother and confidant. According to iReporter Online, Shettima spoke during a condolence visit to Katsina State, where he led a 25-member Federal Government delegation to honour the late president.

Representing President Tinubu, Shettima said the passing of Buhari was a personal tragedy to the current President, referring to him as a “friend, brother, and political soulmate.” He emphasized that Buhari’s legacy would be preserved and protected under the Tinubu administration. According to iReporter Online, Shettima assured that the Federal Government would work to sustain the late president’s ideals and ensure his family and Katsina State are held in the highest regard.

Shettima also announced that he would accompany the bereaved family to Abuja to attend a special Valedictory Federal Executive Council session in Buhari’s honour, describing it as a significant part of the national recognition of the former president’s contributions to Nigeria’s development.

Governor Dikko Radda, in his remarks, praised Buhari as a selfless and honest leader whose memory will continue to inspire generations. He expressed the gratitude of Katsina people to the Tinubu administration for the public holiday declared in Buhari’s name and for the show of solidarity through the high-powered delegation sent to attend the burial.
