Tinubu Tipped To Sweep Middle Belt In 2027 – Sam Amadi Predicts Political Twist
According to Ireporter Online, Dr. Sam Amadi, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, has projected that President Bola Tinubu stands a strong chance of securing victory in Nigeria’s Middle Belt region during the 2027 general elections, provided certain political conditions align.
Dr. Amadi, who previously served as Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), made this assertion in a statement shared via his X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday.
He explained that Tinubu’s potential success in the region hinges largely on strategic political moves by both the President and Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate.
“They are making it easier for Tinubu to win the Middle Belt. It depends on just two games from Tinubu and Peter Obi, and I will call the zone for Tinubu,” Amadi wrote.
His remarks come amid growing speculation following the defection of former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Amadi suggested that the ongoing realignments within Nigeria’s political landscape could bolster Tinubu’s influence in the Middle Belt as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
Political observers note that the Middle Belt has historically been a decisive battleground in Nigerian presidential contests. Amadi’s comments have further fueled debates over how defections, alliances, and shifting opposition strategies might shape the outcome of the next election cycle.
