Tinubu Unveils Hope: Launching 3,112 Housing Unit Tomorrow

This groundbreaking initiative signifies the kickoff of a nationwide endeavor envisioned to deliver a staggering 100,000 housing units, initiated through a groundbreaking Public-Private Partnership (PPP) established in December 2023.
The collaboration, forged between the Federal Ministry of Housing & Urban Development (FMHUD) and a consortium of esteemed companies—Continental Civil and General Construction Limited, in conjunction with Ceezali Limited—embarks on a monumental mission to erect 20,000 housing units across the FCT, with Karsana poised to host 3,112 of these essential dwellings.
Under the banner of the “Renewed Hope Cities and Estates” program, championed by the FMHUD, this visionary scheme aims to revolutionize the national housing landscape, mitigating the pervasive housing shortfall and infusing renewed optimism into the fabric of Nigerian society.
Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, emphasizes the inclusive nature of the project, catering to diverse income brackets and offering an array of residential options.
From modest yet comfortable blocks of flats for low to medium-income earners to luxurious two to five-bedroom terraces and duplexes tailored for higher income brackets, the initiative fosters integrated living communities that reflect Nigeria’s rich diversity.
Fueled by innovative financing models and robust private sector involvement, exemplified by the developers’ significant financial investment and land procurement, the Karsana project sets a new standard for housing development in Nigeria.
Moreover, the FMHUD pledges to facilitate access to these homes through the National Housing Fund (NHF) Scheme, managed by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), ensuring equitable access to affordable housing finance options for aspiring homeowners.
This transformative endeavor extends beyond Karsana, with the FMHUD gearing up to roll out similar projects in strategic locations nationwide, from the Ibeju-Lekki Coastal City in Lagos to estates in Kano and various states across all geopolitical zones.
At its core, the “Renewed Hope Cities and Estates” initiative embodies a commitment to social equity, leveraging a cross-subsidy model to provide housing solutions for low and medium-income Nigerians, while stimulating economic growth and fostering sustainable development.
As the curtain rises on this historic undertaking, President Tinubu’s unwavering dedication to tackling Nigeria’s housing deficit shines brightly, heralding a new dawn of hope and opportunity for countless families across the nation.
