President Tinubu Urges Nigerians in Diaspora to Return Home and Contribute to National Development

President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians living abroad not to remain distant from their homeland but to actively contribute their expertise and resources toward building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.

According to iReporter Online, the President made this appeal during an interactive session with select members of the Nigerian community at the Kahala Hotel and Resort in Yokohama, Japan.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ongoing Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9).

Speaking through Bayo Onanuga, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Tinubu highlighted that under his leadership, Nigeria is on a path of renewed growth and opportunity.

He emphasized that leadership involves both visionary thinking and decisive action to ensure national stability, unity, and economic progress.

According to iReporter Online, Tinubu expressed optimism about Nigerians returning home, saying, “I am happy to report that many of our people are returning home.

Yes, for economic reasons, some may choose to stay away; it is a fundamental right. But for the economic growth and opportunities in Nigeria, don’t stay away. Your contribution is very much needed. If you stay away, who will build it?”

The President further urged the diaspora community to serve as ambassadors for Nigeria, positively representing the country in their interactions abroad.

According to iReporter Online, he concluded with a call for unity and collective effort, stating, “If we don’t join hands and work together, then we’ve lost the hope of being the leaders we are supposed to be.”
