Tompolo’s Tantita Reacts To Navy’s Oil Theft Claim (FULL STATEMENT)
Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has strongly denied allegations made by the Nigerian Navy that four of its personnel were involved in crude oil theft. In a six-page statement, the security firm referred to the accusations as a “smear campaign” and suggested they might be a “cover-up.”
The security company, contracted by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited to safeguard pipelines from vandals, expressed its concerns about the Nigerian Navy’s press release.

According to the Navy, its personnel at the Forward Operation Base (FOB) thwarted an attempted oil theft operation near the Itolu community in Lekki, Lagos State, and arrested the Tantita employees following reports of gunshots in the area.
Tantita argued that its personnel were actually pursuing a motorized wooden boat that was “illegally” loading crude oil from an Offshore Oil Well Jacket.
They also raised questions about the Navy’s statement, including issues related to timelines, jurisdiction, and the military branch’s neutrality, referring to a previous operation involving both parties.
