transplanting machines, a rice seeding machine, 10,000 rice seed beds, and four 10-tonne per day rice mills, was handed over to the state government during a ceremony held at the School-to-Land Farm complex in Yenagoa.

The South Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, Rear Admiral Kim Pankyu (rtd), officially presented the equipment on Thursday, highlighting the strong agricultural cooperation between the two governments. At the event, Ambassador Pankyu emphasized that the donation aimed to enhance rice production in Bayelsa, a state with favorable soil and climate conditions for rice farming.

“This donation is a testament to our collaboration,” said Ambassador Pankyu, stressing that it was the result of a productive visit by Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri to South Korea the previous year. “Our partnership is focused on boosting rice farming in Bayelsa, and with this equipment and the training of personnel, we believe rice production will soar.”

Governor Diri, present at the ceremony, also expressed his gratitude, underscoring the potential this partnership holds for Bayelsa’s agricultural future.

This donation marks a milestone in Bayelsa’s efforts to enhance its agricultural output, with South Korea’s support laying the groundwork for future growth in the state’s rice farming sector.
