According to Ireporter Online, United States President Donald Trump has ruled out sending American troops to the Middle East as the conflict with Iran enters its fourth week. Speaking at the White House during a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, Trump stated on Thursday, “I’m not putting troops anywhere. If I were, I certainly wouldn’t tell you. But I’m not putting troops. We will do whatever is necessary.”

Reports had emerged on Wednesday suggesting that the Trump administration was considering deploying thousands of troops to reinforce US operations in the region. Since Iran’s initial strikes on US military bases on February 28, thirteen American service members have lost their lives.

Trump’s remarks contradict earlier reports about potential troop deployments but leave room for flexibility, as he emphasized he would not disclose military plans publicly even if they existed.

The ongoing Iran conflict has seen mounting casualties on both sides. Israel recently killed several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib on Wednesday and top security official Ali Larijani on Tuesday. In retaliation, Iran has restricted oil passage through the Strait of Hormuz, triggering global energy concerns. President Trump has called on nations including China, France, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom to deploy warships to secure the vital waterway.
