The news of his release came after Nollywood actress Biola Adebayo shared a video on social media, showing her standing with Olowookere outside the prison. In the video, Adebayo expressed gratitude to the public for their support and praised Governor Adeleke for his intervention. She described Olowookere as a good person and highlighted the positive testimonies from fellow inmates at the correctional facility.

Olowookere was among the 53 convicts pardoned by Governor Adeleke on December 26. His case gained widespread attention after a viral interview with Adebayo, where it was revealed that Olowookere’s parents claimed he was wrongfully arrested by police in Osun State. His father, Olanrewaju, alleged that a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) had demanded money for his release, and when they couldn’t pay, his son was unjustly imprisoned.
