Update On Dollar–Naira Exchange Rates For November 28, 2025
According to Ireporter Online, the dollar-to-naira exchange rate continued to draw attention on Thursday as activity intensified across Lagos’ parallel market. Market insiders at various Bureau De Change outlets confirmed that the U.S. dollar was sold at ₦1,475 and purchased at ₦1,462 on November 27, 2025.
Despite the widespread use of the black-market system, the Central Bank of Nigeria has repeatedly emphasized that it does not recognize parallel market transactions for official foreign exchange dealings. The apex bank maintains that individuals seeking foreign currency should conduct such exchanges through their banks.
Meanwhile, official figures showed that the CBN’s referenced exchange rate for the dollar hovered between ₦1,446 and ₦1,442, reflecting a noticeable gap between regulated and informal market pricing.
Analysts note that forex prices may differ across locations and trading points, as fluctuations in demand and supply often influence real-time rates.
