Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen delivered a commanding performance on Friday night, providing two assists as Galatasaray secured a resounding 5-1 victory over Eyüpspor at RAMS Park to strengthen their position at the top of the Turkish Super Lig.

According to Ireporter Online, the reigning champions wasted little time asserting their dominance. Osimhen made an immediate impact, whipping in a precise cross inside the opening two minutes which Yunus Akgün converted with a powerful header to set the tone for the encounter.

Galatasaray continued to dictate proceedings and doubled their advantage in the 33rd minute through Mauro Icardi, who reacted sharply to a loose ball in the penalty area. Eyüpspor’s task became even more daunting five minutes later when Bedirhan Özyurt was sent off, reducing the visitors to ten men.

The second half mirrored the first in intensity and control. Osimhen once again played a decisive role, winning possession deep inside the box before unselfishly setting up Icardi for his second goal of the night. The Argentine forward went on to complete his hat-trick in the 70th minute, further underlining Galatasaray’s superiority.

Although Metehan Altunbaş managed to pull one back shortly after, any hopes of a comeback were extinguished in stoppage time when Jérôme Onguéné inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, sealing a comprehensive 5-1 triumph for the hosts.

The victory extended Galatasaray’s unbeaten league run to ten matches and lifted them to 55 points, opening a six-point cushion over rivals Fenerbahçe.

Osimhen’s impressive form has continued to attract attention beyond Turkey. Reports circulating in European media indicate that Atlético Madrid are considering a potential summer move amid uncertainty surrounding the futures of Julián Álvarez and Alexander Sørloth. Barcelona are also said to be monitoring the situation as they plan for life beyond Robert Lewandowski.

The 25-year-old forward, who committed to a four-year contract last summer following a successful loan spell, has now scored 15 goals in 21 appearances this season. Attention will next shift to European competition, with Galatasaray preparing to host Juventus in the first leg of their Champions League playoff on Tuesday.
