Speaking to Channels Television at Polling Unit 009 in Barnawa, Kaduna South Local Government Area, Abubakar expressed his dismay over the brazen prevalence of vote buying in the region.

Abubakar alleged that certain security agents were involved in facilitating and supporting the act of vote buying during the ongoing rerun and by-elections. He pointed out that the situation was not hidden but rather open for all to witness. When asked if political agents buy votes right in front of security agents, Abubakar responded affirmatively, stating, “Yes, even some of the security agents are being compromised. That is all I could say.”

Despite being uncertain about whether the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials were aware of the issue, Abubakar expressed concern that voters might be influenced to vote based on monetary incentives rather than freely exercising their right to vote.
