“We Will Defeat Terrorism” — Tinubu Declares Amid Trump’s Warning Of U.S. Intervention
President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to end terrorism and restore peace across Nigeria, assuring citizens that the Federal Government is intensifying collaboration with international allies to strengthen national security.
According to Ireporter Online, the President made the declaration during Thursday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House in Abuja, where he emphasized that his government remains actively engaged with the global community to counter threats undermining Nigeria’s stability.
“Despite the political challenges and the fears of our people, we continue to engage our partners. We are engaging the world diplomatically,” Tinubu stated, describing global cooperation as a critical element of Nigeria’s national security strategy.
The President reiterated his unwavering resolve to defeat terrorism and restore calm across all regions, assuring Nigerians that his administration remains guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda in its mission to build a peaceful and prosperous nation.
“I assure you all that we will defeat terrorism. The task ahead is to move forward with clarity of purpose under the Renewed Hope Agenda to build a prosperous Nigeria,” Tinubu affirmed.
His remarks came shortly after former U.S. President Donald Trump issued a renewed warning over the security situation in Nigeria. Trump, who on October 31 redesignated Nigeria as a “country of particular concern,” threatened possible military intervention — including air strikes — if what he described as the “targeted killing of Christians” continued.
In a video message released on Wednesday, Trump accused “radical Islamists” of orchestrating a “mass slaughter” of Christians, adding that the United States “will act decisively” if the Nigerian government fails to curb the violence.
