We Will Fight Back” — All Progressives Congress Moves To Crush Peter Obi’s Growing Influence

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has vowed to challenge former presidential candidate Peter Obi’s growing influence ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to Ireporter Online, Ben Nwoye, the party’s Deputy National Chairman (South), made the statement during an appearance on Channels Television, emphasizing that the APC intends to contest Obi’s stronghold through the political system.

Nwoye acknowledged the substantial impact of the Obidient Movement in the 2023 elections, particularly in the South-East, where the movement won significant legislative seats. He stressed that the party would not underestimate Obi’s political reach, noting his successes in Delta, Edo, and Lagos states, as well as his continued mobilization through both the Obidient Movement and his new alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Highlighting the stakes for the APC, Nwoye stated that the South would be the focal point of the party’s efforts in 2027, as multiple presidential aspirants from the region, including Obi and potential candidates like Rotimi Amaechi, are positioning for influence. He concluded that every vote will count and affirmed the party’s commitment to securing maximum support.

Peter Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party and won nine of 17 southern states, is now with the ADC, aiming to become the party’s flagbearer in the upcoming 2027 elections.
