“We’ll Take Back Zamfara In 2027” – Yari Declares As APC Rallies Supporters
According to Ireporter Online, former Zamfara State Governor and Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari, has expressed strong optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will reclaim power in Zamfara State during the 2027 general elections.
Yari made this assurance while addressing a large gathering of party stakeholders at his residence in Talata Mafara on Saturday, November 2, 2025. He emphasised that the APC, despite currently not holding power in the state, cannot be regarded as an opposition party due to its commanding presence and influence at the national level.
“Our presence here is to rekindle confidence among our members and remind everyone that APC remains Nigeria’s ruling party,” Yari said. “By 2027, we will return to lead Zamfara State. We cannot continue to be called the opposition.”
The event drew thousands of enthusiastic supporters and notable APC leaders, including the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; Senator Sahabi Ya’u; Hon. Abdulmalik Zannan-Bungudu; Hon. Sulaiman Abubakar Gumi; and former deputy governors Ibrahim Wakala, Muktar Ahmed Anka, and Hassan Muhammad Nasiha.
Yari reaffirmed that the APC’s strong grassroots structure and national dominance positioned it for a political resurgence in the state. He maintained that Zamfara remains “an APC state by spirit and structure,” while urging members to intensify mobilisation across wards and local government areas to strengthen unity and political readiness.
Also addressing the gathering, Zamfara APC Chairman, Umar Tukur Danfulani, encouraged party members to stay united, disciplined, and focused on the common goal of reclaiming the Government House in Gusau. He noted that the road ahead would require teamwork and loyalty, stressing that internal harmony was crucial for the party’s success in the forthcoming elections.
The stakeholders unanimously reaffirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, pledging full cooperation with the Federal Government’s reform and development efforts.
Yari praised the president’s economic and security policies, noting that the current reforms would yield lasting benefits for the nation. He urged party members in Zamfara to stand firmly behind the APC-led government to ensure the state benefits from national progress.
“We remain steadfast with President Tinubu,” Yari stated. “The policies being implemented today are laying the foundation for growth, and Zamfara must be part of that success story.”
