What Happened To Osimhen? – FULL LIST Of Players Who Made Final Shortlist For 2023 CAF Player Of The Year Emerge

“CAF has announced the shortlists for the men’s categories for the CAF Awards 2023,” the African football governing body said on Friday.

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, widely considered the favorite, stands as the sole Nigerian on the final list for the 2023 CAF Best Player award. Osimhen seeks to culminate a remarkable year during which he secured the Italian Scudetto and claimed the league’s top scorer accolade.

Recently, Osimhen attained the eighth position in the 2023 Ballon d’Or awards held in Paris, France. Among the other prominent players on the final list of 10 nominees for the CAF award are the reigning holder, Senegalese forward Sadio Mane, Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez, and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, among others.

The ultimate victor in each category will be determined through votes from a diverse panel, including the CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, head coaches, and captains of member associations and clubs participating in the group stages of the Interclub competitions, as specified by CAF.

The Awards Gala is scheduled for Monday, December 11, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco.
