Why Governor Mutfwang Is Joining APC – Aide Explains
According to Ireporter Online, Benue State Governor Caleb Mutfwang is set to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The governor’s political adviser, Istifanus Nwansat, revealed the plan while speaking with journalists in Abuja on Monday.
Nwansat explained that the move is intended to align Governor Mutfwang with President Bola Tinubu’s political and governance agenda. The adviser noted that internal crises within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have rendered the party an impractical platform for political actors seeking to contest elections.
“After evaluating all available options, we have concluded that joining the APC represents the safest and most strategic choice with minimal risk,” Nwansat said. He added that the governor’s decision also reflects a commitment to guide his people in supporting the President’s efforts to stabilize and develop the nation.
Nwansat further stated that, despite being long-time PDP members, the governor and his team recognize and appreciate President Tinubu’s initiatives and contributions toward national governance.
