According to Ireporter Online, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described himself as the most abused politician in Nigeria, second only to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The minister made the assertion on Saturday while addressing stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ochigba, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The gathering formed part of activities marking an end-of-year thanksgiving service hosted in Ochigba by a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche. The event brought together party leaders and supporters from the area.

Speaking at the meeting, Wike attributed the persistent criticism directed at him to his firm stance on upholding agreements, particularly those he believes are meant to protect the interests of his political followers. He stressed that his insistence on honoring commitments often puts him at odds with critics who expect compromises.

The former Rivers State governor reiterated that his political camp had long reached an understanding to continue supporting President Tinubu, noting that the decision remains unchanged. He emphasized that agreements must be respected and implemented once reached, adding that entering into arrangements without the intention to follow through was unacceptable.

Wike further assured his supporters that their commitment to President Tinubu was deliberate and enduring, insisting that political pressure and public attacks would not sway their position.
