You Won’t Believe What This Ex-PDP Legal Adviser Says About Party Leaders In Crisis

According to Naija News, the PDP Governors Forum intervened in the crisis on Tuesday. During this intervention, its Chairman, Governor Bala Mohammed, declared that the issues plaguing the party had been resolved and that all suspensions were nullified.

In an interview on Arise Television’s “NewsNight” program, Jacob acknowledged the governors’ positive actions but highlighted that deeper challenges, such as the extended tenure of Acting National Chairman Ambassador Umar Damagum, still need attention.

“While the governors have stepped in, the core issues persist. The party is currently under the influence of various factions,” Jacob stated, emphasizing the necessity for a more thorough resolution.

He further criticized individuals who ignore the party’s constitution, accusing them of jeopardizing the PDP’s stability. “It’s unfortunate that those who neglect the party’s constitutional framework are playing a role in its decline,” he remarked.

Jacob also lamented the PDP’s failure to effectively serve as the primary opposition party in the country. He suggested that funding should come from grassroots membership, stating, “Members should contribute by paying their dues, ensuring that no single individual can dominate or control the party.”

Meanwhile, the National Working Committee (NWC), led by Yayari Mohammed, has remained silent regarding the outcomes of the peace initiatives proposed by the governors. Attempts to reach Yayari Mohammed and National Publicity Secretary Hon. Debo Ologunagba were unsuccessful, as their phone lines were unreachable, and there were no responses to text messages by 9:00 p.m. last night.
