During a visit to Giadom’s Bera country home in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Wike expressed happiness to be back with his friend. Although Wike described the visit as apolitical, speculation arose about a potential move to the APC and his support for President Bola Tinubu.

The gathering included serving senators, House of Representatives members from Rivers, leaders from APC and PDP, former chairmen of Rivers PDP, Felix Obuah and Amb. Desmond Akawor, Southsouth Chairman of PDP Chief Dan Orbih, PDP National Secretary Sam Anyanwu, traditional rulers, local government chairmen, youths, and women.

Wike clarified that his visit was private and aimed at reconnecting with Giadom, emphasizing that it was not politically motivated. He commended Giadom’s ability to connect with his people and stressed the importance of making a positive impact in politics.

Despite facing criticism, Wike affirmed his focus on serving the people and downplayed the significance of social media comments. He highlighted the enduring nature of friendships, citing Giadom’s earlier support when he was appointed a Minister.

Wike expressed continued support for President Tinubu’s administration, recalling his advocacy for the presidency to go to the south during his tenure as Rivers governor. Giadom welcomed Wike’s visit as a “homecoming” and pledged support for any team he might lead in Rivers, emphasizing their control of the region.
