Leading the Nigerian delegation, Alake held discussions with AlKhorayef and Vice-Minister of Mining Affairs, Eng. Khaled AlMudifer, on the sidelines of the FMF in Saudi Arabia’s capital.

Alake confirmed the meeting agenda in a post on his X handle on Tuesday morning. However, specific details of the discussions have not been disclosed at the time of this report.

In related news, the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, arrived at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday morning.

Edu is scheduled to meet with EFCC investigators to provide clarifications regarding the alleged transfer of a N585.189 million grant intended for vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogun, and Lagos states into a private account.

The anti-graft agency had summoned Edu to its headquarters on Monday following a presidential directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ordering her suspension and investigation.

A reliable source within the EFCC stated that the invitation aligns with President Tinubu’s directive for a comprehensive probe into her tenure in the ministry.

The source disclosed that an official invitation had been dispatched to the suspended minister to address certain issues in her ministry.

The EFCC had earlier recommended her immediate suspension to facilitate the ongoing investigation into the alleged corruption.
