Speaking at a pivotal gathering of officials and members of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS) in Akure, the state capital, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed unwavering confidence in securing victory in both the party primaries and the general elections.

Addressing his supporters, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized, “My supporters should persist in their efforts and remain steadfast, as my impending triumph in the primaries and subsequent elections is divinely ordained.”

Drawing inspiration from his predecessor, the late former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, Governor Aiyedatiwa recounted Akeredolu’s prophetic foresight regarding his ascension to the governorship. He lauded Akeredolu as a visionary leader who had foreseen his succession.

“This emergence as governor is in alignment with the vision of my late predecessor, Governor Akeredolu. Many fail to recognize Akeredolu’s prophetic insight. There was a moment, post his medical hiatus, where he foretold during an executive council meeting that ‘Aiyedatiwa will emerge as the next governor,’” Governor Aiyedatiwa reminisced.

Asserting his commitment to governance beyond the mandate of his joint ticket with the late Akeredolu, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized his sincere dedication to catalyzing transformative change in Ondo State and uplifting the welfare of its citizens.

The LACO-FS Convener, Dr. Oladipupo Okeyomi, underscored the extensive grassroots support for Governor Aiyedatiwa, with over 250,000 campaigners, known as ‘Foot Soldiers,’ mobilized across the state to secure victory.

However, Okeyomi deplored the opportunistic behavior of certain gubernatorial aspirants who exploited the funeral proceedings of the late former Governor Akeredolu for campaign purposes, highlighting the ethical breach of such actions.

Echoing sentiments of support, LACO-FS Co-convener, Prince Biyi Poroye, hailed Governor Aiyedatiwa as the people’s choice, citing his remarkable achievements within a short tenure in office.

In furtherance of their campaign efforts, the director-general of LACO-FS, Mr. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, disclosed plans for a comprehensive tour of all local government areas, with Governor Aiyedatiwa spearheading the campaigns.

Amidst fervent endorsements, Governor Aiyedatiwa was honored with the title of ‘Field Marshal’ of LACO-FS, accompanied by the unveiling of campaign paraphernalia symbolizing the unity and dedication of supporters towards his gubernatorial bid.
