Umahi stated that the total cost and breakdown of the project would be disclosed to the public on Friday, countering Atiku’s allegations of lack of transparency in the project’s funding.
During an inspection visit to the Enugu-Port Harcourt dual carriageway, Umahi emphasized the administration’s commitment to prudence, cost-effectiveness, and quality delivery of road projects despite challenges such as commodity price inflation and supply chain disruptions.
Umahi criticized Atiku’s understanding of figures, asserting that he would provide detailed analyses during a press conference scheduled for April 10 to April 12, 2024, in Lagos.
Regarding the economic importance of the coastal highway project, Umahi highlighted its role in connecting regions across Nigeria and fostering national integration. He also mentioned plans to commence the third section of the project in Calabar by July 2024.
