Victim Of Abuja School Bullying Demands Probe And Action Against Perpetrators

A student from Lead British International School in Gwarimpa, Abuja, who was subjected to bullying, has demanded a thorough investigation into the incident and strict sanctions against the perpetrators. The victim, who remains unnamed for privacy reasons, expressed in her letter that she has been emotionally and physically traumatized by the bullying incident. Criticizing the school’s handling of similar incidents in the past, she emphasized the need for decisive action to address the pervasive issue of bullying within the institution.

The letter, reported by Punch Newspaper, highlighted the victim’s disapproval of the school’s characterization of the assault as a “minor dispute” and called for the implementation of the strictest possible sanctions against the identified perpetrators, two of whom have already been identified.

Should the school fail to take action within the stipulated timeframe, the victim’s legal team is prepared to pursue legal recourse against Lead British International School, Gwarimpa, without further recourse.

The incident gained public attention through videos posted on X by user @moooyeeeee, which depicted the victim being repeatedly slapped by another female classmate. The videos sparked widespread outrage online, prompting calls for decisive action from the school.

In response to public outcry, one of the bullies issued an apology via video, expressing remorse for her actions. Meanwhile, the school’s management has acknowledged the incident and initiated an investigation.
