In a statement posted on his X handle on Monday, Atiku questioned who is currently steering the affairs of the government, suggesting that the nation might be on autopilot in their absence. He emphasized the need for clarity on who is in charge and how the government is functioning amid the absence of the president and vice president.

Meanwhile, Atiku also addressed the recent arrest of journalist Daniel Ojukwu from the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ). Describing the arrest as irresponsible and a violation of press freedom, Atiku called for Ojukwu’s immediate release. He highlighted the importance of a free press in holding the government accountable and criticized the administration’s crackdown on journalists exposing governmental shortcomings.
