Obaseki’s Hidden Rice : More Controversy Erupts Over Hidden Truckload Of Rice In Benin City

By Hon Desmond Ugbo

In a startling turn of events, the PDP Governorship campaign council deputy director of new media, Pharez Okpere, has on behalf of Godwin Obaseki and PDP denied any knowledge about a hidden truckload of bags of rice discovered around the Urora area in Benin on Thursday, August 1st.

However, a twist in the narrative has emerged after all, with the PDP and the state governor allegedly commissioned some members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), represented by Reverend  Osagie Erhumwunse and Apostle Irekpono Omoike, to claim ownership of the truckload of palliative rice bags under the guise of Edo Food distribution program, which  Okpere initially denied knowledge of and exonerated the governor from any connection.

The discrepancy in the accounts has left the public wondering who to believe. On one side, Okpere, the PDP campaign official, has categorically denied any knowledge of the hidden rice, while on the other, the PDP and the governor are said to have orchestrated a ploy to lay claim to the truckload of rice.

This incident has further fueled the perception that the PDP, fondly referred to as “People Deceive People (PDP), “Pikin Deceive Papa (PDP),” and “Papa Deceive Pikin (PDP),” is embroiled in a web of deception. The phrase “Pharez Deceive People (PDP)” has also been used to describe the party’s actions in this matter.

The public is left to question the credibility of the PDP’s claims and the transparency of the distribution of essential food items during this challenging time. The revelation of this hidden truckload of rice has raised concerns about the party’s commitment to serving the people’s best interests.

As the investigation into this matter continues, it remains to be seen whether the truth will prevail or whether the PDP’s alleged pattern of deception will continue to erode public trust. The people of Benin and the state at large await a clear and unbiased resolution to this controversy, which has once again questioned the integrity of the PDP and its leadership.
