Tinubu Caught In Ideological U-Turn: Farounbi Slams Him, Urges A Rethink On His Letter To Jonathan

Speaking in an interview with Channels TV on Friday, Farounbi expressed concern over what he described as Tinubu’s ideological shift.

“If given the chance, I would ask him to reflect on who he once was. I would remind him of the letter he wrote to Jonathan in 2012, and the cases he fought at the Supreme Court regarding local governments,” Farounbi stated.

He continued, “I would ask why he is no longer the Tinubu we knew — the one committed to restructuring Nigeria, advocating for a sovereign national conference, and championing true federalism. Why has he ideologically somersaulted?”

Farounbi urged Tinubu to return to his former principles, suggesting that many of the nation’s current challenges could be mitigated if the president stayed true to his past ideals.

He further emphasized that the essence of a progressive leader is to prioritize the welfare of the people, ensuring access to food and jobs.
