Plateau Arms Trafficker Confesses To Supplying Weapons To Deadly Bandits

The weapons seized include two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, a Makarov pistol, a fabricated Bronny pistol, one round of 7.8mm live ammunition, two rounds of G3 live ammunition, four rounds of 7.6mm live ammunition, and a single round of 9mm live ammunition.

Adejobi highlighted recent police efforts, reporting that since October 1, 2024, authorities have arrested hundreds of suspects linked to serious crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping, and murder. In addition, 210 firearms and 3,172 rounds of ammunition have been recovered, along with 118 stolen vehicles and 64 rescued kidnapping victims.

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the force’s commitment to public safety through tactical operations, intelligence-driven policing, and community engagement. The police’s proactive measures aim to combat crimes like banditry, kidnapping, and cybercrime, ensuring safety nationwide.
