Shettima’s visit to the holy city is centered around a spiritual journey, as he plans to visit the revered Holy Mosque of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and perform the sacred Lesser Hajj (Umrah) in Mecca.

The Vice President’s trip comes after representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Dubai, where he attended the grand unveiling of a $315 million oil facility. He now sets his sights on important discussions scheduled for December 20, 2024, in Jeddah, where he will meet with the President of the Islamic Development Bank to discuss co-financing initiatives for Nigeria’s Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ Phase II) and to enhance project collaboration to boost Nigeria’s agricultural and economic growth.

Shettima, accompanied by Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has embarked on this pivotal diplomatic and religious mission after concluding his duties in Dubai. The powerful meeting and spiritual pilgrimage mark a significant moment in Nigeria’s global engagement efforts.
