States, with a couple—Lukman Isiaka and Abosede Olanipekun—among the suspects. A 65-year-old woman, Madam Sabira Izuorah, was also arrested for allegedly purchasing children for between N500,000 and N1 million.
The police recovered 14 children, who were abducted by the suspects, and the investigation revealed a history of child trafficking activities in Ondo and Osun States. The arrests followed a complaint made by a parent in Akure about the abduction of her child, which led the police to track the suspects to remote villages in Edo and Anambra.
The children rescued include infants as young as 3 weeks old, and the police are continuing efforts to locate others still missing. The suspects face prosecution following a thorough investigation.
