WASSCE: Kwara Government Applauds Smooth Conduct of Mathematics Exam

The Kwara State Government has commended the smooth and orderly administration of the General Mathematics paper in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), held across the state on Tuesday.

During a monitoring visit to selected secondary schools in Oyun and Offa Local Government Areas, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, expressed satisfaction with the coordination and discipline observed during the exercise.

A statement issued on Wednesday by Peter Amogbonjaye, Press Secretary of the Ministry, quoted the commissioner as describing the conduct of the Mathematics paper as “highly commendable,” particularly when compared to the English Language examination held on May 28, 2025. He urged the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to sustain and enhance this standard in the remaining subjects.

Addressing students during the inspection, Dr. Olohungbebe advised them to uphold integrity throughout the examination period and resist all forms of malpractice, emphasizing that dishonest acts could bring disrepute to themselves, their families, and the state.

He also praised teachers for their unwavering commitment to the state’s education policies, recognizing their crucial role in shaping the future of students and ensuring academic excellence.

Dr. Olohungbebe reaffirmed the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, is dedicated to transforming education in Kwara, saying, “This government is investing heavily in education to ensure that children of the common man can rise to become great leaders of tomorrow.”

The schools visited during the exercise included Erinle Secondary School, Offa Grammar School, Ansarul-Deen College, Offa, and Oyun Baptist High School, Ijagbo.
