Momodu dismissed Wike’s earlier remarks labeling him a political failure, saying the minister is shameless and concerned only about alcohol.

“He does not care about anything in this world other than his alcohol,” Momodu said, describing Wike’s recent public outburst as the “height of recklessness and irresponsibility.”

Responding to Wike’s tirade during a recent media chat, Momodu likened the minister to a pig, quoting a former Attorney General who had advised him not to engage in a mudslinging match. “I was told not to wrestle with a pig, so I’m not here to do that,” he stated.

Momodu recounted a past professional engagement with Wike in 2022 when he interviewed separatist leader Nnamdi Kanu, who heavily criticized the FCT Minister. Following the interview, Momodu said he offered Wike a right of reply, which the minister gladly accepted.

“He was the one who personally asked that the Ovation team be brought in for two weeks of media coverage. We didn’t beg him; I was simply doing my job as a professional journalist,” Momodu clarified.

He further explained that Wike’s behavior has drastically changed since rising to power. “Wike was still somewhat normal then. But power has transformed him. When a man who used to be a nobody suddenly acquires power, he begins to change — slowly but surely.”
