I Cried So Much’ — Woman Mourns Ex-Boyfriend Who D!ed Just A Week After Bride Price Was Paid

A woman’s emotional account of her ex-boyfriend’s death a week after bride price payment has captured widespread attention on social media. According to Ireporter Online, Chinonyerem Judith Godwin revealed that she had been in a three-year relationship with her late boyfriend.

She shared that after he proposed, he visited her parents to seek their blessing for marriage. However, shortly after, he became unreachable and blocked her on all communication platforms. Four months later, Godwin discovered online posts from his friends announcing his engagement to another woman.

“I called his friend again, and that was when he told me the truth. He said my ex claimed he had found someone he truly loves and wants to spend the rest of his life with. I almost fainted when I heard that. I was completely broken and depressed. The most painful part was that I still didn’t know what I did wrong,” Godwin wrote in her post.

Tragically, her ex-boyfriend was involved in a fatal car accident and died on the spot, just a week after the bride price had been paid. Reflecting on the situation, Godwin expressed gratitude despite her grief, stating, “But at the same time, I thank God for everything. Because if things had gone the way I planned, I might have become a widow at a very young age.”
