According to a statement released on Wednesday by the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, the position was in response to recent political activities and remarks made by opposition groups within the state and across the country. The statement emphasized that while opposition parties remain a critical component of democratic governance, their participation must be anchored on realism, responsibility, and respect for the will of the electorate.

The party maintained that the outcomes of the recent elections demonstrate Nigerians’ confidence in its leadership and development agenda. It further criticised opposition groups for what it described as inadequate preparation and lack of unity, particularly in the lead-up to party primaries, noting that last-minute alliances among opposition figures reflected internal disorganisation.

It also reaffirmed its commitment to governance, stating that its priority remains the delivery of key promises to citizens, including improved infrastructure, expanded economic opportunities, enhanced security, and better welfare for the populace.
