President Bola Tinubu has stated that his immediate priority is to stand in solidarity with the people of Plateau State following a recent deadly attack in the region.

According to Ireporter Online, the President made this known in a personally signed statement on Wednesday, announcing the postponement of his planned visit to Ogun State in order to travel to Jos, the Plateau State capital. The decision comes in response to the tragic incident in the Angwan Rukuba community, which resulted in significant loss of lives.

The President explained that his visit to Jos is aimed at sympathising with grieving families and reassuring residents that those responsible for acts of violence will not succeed in destabilising the nation. He emphasised the importance of national unity during times of sorrow, noting that collective support is essential in overcoming such challenges.

He further assured that the federal government remains committed to strengthening security measures and ensuring that justice is served for victims of the attack.

Bola Tinubu also outlined his subsequent engagements, stating that after the Plateau visit, he would proceed to Lagos for the observance of Good Friday, before continuing with official duties in Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa States. These engagements, he noted, will focus on infrastructure development, trade, and economic growth, reiterating his administration’s commitment to prioritising national interest at all times.
