According to Ireporter Online, Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly and spouse of Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia (2Baba), has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Edo lawmaker reportedly announced her defection on Thursday at the NDC national headquarters in Abuja, where she joined other political figures including former Gombe State Deputy Governor John Yoriyo. They were received by top party leaders, among them former Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson.

Prior to her switch, Osawaru had already declared her intention to seek re-election to the Edo State House of Assembly, where she currently represents Egor Constituency. She confirmed that she will be contesting under the NDC platform in the upcoming polls.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, the 31-year-old politician described the party as one committed to delivering meaningful change and service to the people. She further drew attention online with a campaign slogan referencing the party acronym as “Natasha Don Come.”

Osawaru expressed confidence that her move, alongside the support of her constituents, would enhance development in Edo State, pledging to prioritise youth empowerment, security, welfare, and improved governance if re-elected in 2027.

She also publicly endorsed the presidential ambition of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, sharing photos with him and urging Nigerians to rally support for his candidacy.
