Osimhen, Kvaratskhelia Top Champions League Man Of The Match Race

Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are currently tied at the top of the UEFA Champions League Man of the Match standings this season, each having secured four awards, as the competition approaches its final stage.

According to Ireporter Online, Osimhen’s impressive run came despite Galatasaray’s elimination in the round of 16 following their defeat to Liverpool. The Nigerian forward has, however, remained one of the tournament’s most influential performers, delivering standout displays across multiple fixtures.

His first Man of the Match award of the campaign came in Galatasaray’s narrow 1-0 victory over Liverpool on September 30, 2025, where he converted the decisive penalty at RAMS Park. He followed that with another strong performance in a 3-1 win against Bodø/Glimt on October 22, before completing a hat-trick heroics display against Ajax on November 5, which earned him a third award. His fourth recognition came in a 3-2 loss to Juventus, a match in which he still found the net and helped push Galatasaray into the knockout stages.

Meanwhile, Kvaratskhelia has enjoyed a surge in form for Paris Saint-Germain, especially in the latter stages of the competition. His most recent award came after a 2-0 quarter-final victory over Liverpool. Earlier, he earned back-to-back honours during PSG’s clashes with Chelsea in March, while his first recognition of the season came in a dominant 4-0 win over Atalanta in September 2025.

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice is also in contention with three Man of the Match awards, having impressed in victories over Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, as well as a standout semi-final second-leg performance against Atlético Madrid.

Osimhen’s Champions League campaign has yielded seven goals and three assists in ten appearances. His partnership with Kvaratskhelia, previously at Napoli, played a key role in the Italian club’s 2022–23 Serie A triumph, where Osimhen finished as top scorer with 26 goals and Kvaratskhelia was named Player of the Year after recording 12 goals and 10 assists.

Since then, Kvaratskhelia has completed a €70 million move to PSG, while Osimhen secured a €75 million transfer to Galatasaray in 2025 following an initial loan spell.
