Ilebaye’s Mother Claims Father Asked For ₦30M Before Allowing Her Return Home

According to Ireporter Online, Lami Calista, mother of Big Brother Naija All Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, has alleged that her ex-husband forced their daughter out of his residence and demanded ₦30 million before allowing her return.

Calista made the claim in a video shared on social media while addressing a viral recording in which she was heard seemingly disowning her daughter. In the widely circulated clip, she was heard expressing anger, blaming her daughter, and stating that she no longer wanted any contact with her, remarks that sparked widespread reactions online.

Clarifying the situation, Calista explained that the controversial video was misunderstood and, according to her, formed part of a planned response between her and Ilebaye amid ongoing family disputes. She alleged that her ex-husband had repeatedly accused their daughter of influencing her decisions and had earlier ordered Ilebaye to leave his house following her departure. She further claimed that access back into the home was allegedly tied to a ₦30 million demand, adding that she had intervened and pleaded for her daughter’s return with the promise that the issue would be resolved later.

Appealing to the public, Calista urged Nigerians not to judge her daughter, insisting that Ilebaye has been dealing with significant family challenges away from the public eye and social media attention. She also suggested that the reality TV star has been going through emotional distress, stating that her daughter would not have managed without seeking help during a recent incident.

The development comes shortly after reports indicated that the Federal Capital Territory Police Command confirmed the arrest of Emmanuel Odiniya following an alleged domestic assault incident involving Ilebaye at a residence in Wuye, Abuja.
