Arne Slot Confident About Liverpool F.C. Future As Elliott Eyes Pre-Season Return

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday that the Dutch tactician maintained a positive stance when questioned about his future at Anfield, insisting he sees no uncertainty regarding his role.

“I have every reason to believe I will be the Liverpool manager next season,” Slot stated.

He further revealed that planning for the next campaign is already in motion, with discussions ongoing between the club and potential summer signings, and his direct involvement in the process.

“The plans for next season have been made, talks are ongoing between the club and new players, and I am involved in that,” he added.

The comments are expected to reassure supporters following the exit of Jürgen Klopp, as Liverpool looks to reinforce key areas of the squad ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

In a separate development, Slot confirmed that Harvey Elliott will rejoin the Liverpool first-team squad for pre-season after a challenging loan spell at Aston Villa.

The 23-year-old midfielder struggled for consistent playing time under Unai Emery, featuring for just 284 minutes across all competitions during the season.

“He’s contracted to us so he will be with us at the start of the season,” Slot said ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League fixture against Villa.

While the loan was intended to support Elliott’s development, Slot admitted it did not deliver the expected outcome for any of the parties involved.

“I think for him, for everyone, it didn’t work out as he wanted it, as we wanted it and probably also how Villa wanted it, because you usually sign a player or bring him in on loan to use him,” he concluded.
