Abuja Pastor Remanded Over Alleged R@pe Of Minor In Court
According to Ireporter Online, the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Gwarimpa, Abuja, has ordered the remand of the founder of Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry, Pastor Amos Isah, pending the verification and submission of his earlier bail conditions as proceedings continue in his ongoing trial.
Justice Modupe Osho-Adebiyi issued the directive when the case resumed, ordering that the defendant remain in custody at the court’s discretion. The 39-year-old cleric pleaded not guilty to an eight-count charge bordering on alleged sexual offences and related abuses involving a minor.
The charges against him include alleged rape, sexual exploitation, coercion, emotional and psychological abuse, gross indecency, and abduction of a minor, all said to have been committed under provisions of the Child Rights Act, the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, and the Penal Code.
Court documents presented by the prosecution allege that the defendant lured a 14-year-old girl into his church office in Gwagwalada, Abuja, where the offences reportedly occurred. The prosecution further outlined that the alleged acts violated several sections of Nigerian law designed to protect minors and prohibit sexual and psychological exploitation.
The court has adjourned the matter until June 30, 2026, for further hearing.
